Jellyfish in the Baltic Sea - mysterious, harmless goo!

There are only a few species of jellyfish in the Baltic Sea - and most of them are completely harmless! The most common jellyfish is the moon jellyfish. It looks like a transparent umbrella with four small circles in the middle. These jellyfish can be a bit slippery, but they don't sting - you can even look at them carefully with a stick.

The compass jellyfish is somewhat rarer. It has a pretty patterned circle on its back, reminiscent of a compass. Its tentacles can pinch a little when touched, but it is not really dangerous.

The fire jellyfish looks particularly impressive with its long tentacles. They can sting if you touch them - but don't worry: jellyfish are rare in the Baltic Sea and you can easily recognize and avoid them.

So don't be afraid of jellyfish! They are exciting sea creatures and won't hurt you if you just give them a little space. It's better to watch them from a distance - they're like little ghosts under water!
